The weather's warmed up and I finally have a fairly free weeekend. Once I saw it's Free Fishing Weekend in Colorado, that sealed the deal for me.

I have a local friend that's offered to take me so I actually have some chance of success. We all know location is everything when it comes to fishing. I didn't bring all my gear when I moved out. Just some ultra-light stuff. I'm not sure where we're going but I'm ready!

Free fishing weekend is all about getting everyone out and hopefully catch a good'em! Colorado Parks and Wildlife is inviting anglers of all ages to participate June 3 to 4. So grab the kids and take advantage of this annual opportunity.

Colorado indeed has it all when it comes to fishing. Lakes, streams, rivers, and reservoirs. It's truly a world-class destination. The state features nearly 9,000 miles of trout streams. Included in that are 321 miles of which are designated as Gold Medal waterways.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife reminds everyone too that although a license is not required this weekend, all other rules and regulations will apply. Anglers should consult the 2017 Colorado Fishing Brochure for specific regulations and restrictions for the waters they'll be fishing. Good luck!
