Over the last 114 years, 14 people have attempted to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel, with only nine surviving.

Last week, two Canadians made history by being the first to climb up Niagara Falls.

Will Gadd and Sarah Hueniken, a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year and his go-with-the-flow girlfriend, made the 150-foot climb.

While they did it mostly just for fun, they also had the mission of highlighting the beauty of the falls on the U.S.-Canada border in winter.

Unlike the individuals have plunged down the falls, Gadd and Hueniken were the first people to ask for permission to climb the falls. It was a process that took almost a year and caught the attention of their Red Bull sponsor.

Besides the crazy sight of a grown man swinging from a slick wall of ice, the video shows the most beautiful view of the half-frozen falls.

"It vibrates your intestines and makes you feel very, very small," Gadd said of the thunderous falls.

"I've never experienced anything like it."
