Devastating flooding in northern Colorado has resulted in at least two deaths, stranded motorists, closed roads and destruction of multiple homes.

Torrential rains throughout Wednesday night and Thursday dropped up to 7 inches in some parts of northern Colorado causing mudslides and rock slides throughout the area and forcing residents to evacuate.

The University of Colorado Boulder and Naropa University have closed their campuses for Thursday and had UC Boulder had to evacuate dorms due to the flood waters.

There are multiple road closures throughout Boulder and Larimer Counties, which is causing multiple delays in surrounding traffic and making it difficult for crews to assist area residents.

The National Weather Service is predicting more rain showers off and on throughout the day.
