Tuesday evening around 6 pm a flash flood hit in the Colorado National Monument along Monument Road in the east side of the park.

This water came from thunderstorms that produced very heavy rainfall around 4:45 pm to 5:15 pm. The average rain fall each year over the past 30 years has been less than nine inches. I would say we have hit that mark and could be on track to break a record.
