    Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off

    Colorado Springs

    It's a fun weekend at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs September 3 through the 5. There is a mass balloon ascension with over 50 hot air balloons launching into the sky, plus skydiving demonstrations, wakeboarding, paddle boarding, vendors and live entertainment. Admission is free.

    Denver

    Top professional and amateur athletes compete in skateboarding and BMX events September 3 through the 5 in downtown Denver. Fans of extreme sports will love the thrills and impossible tricks.

    If you love watching skateboarders and cyclists flying through the air, this event is for you. Admission is free.

    Western Woofers Fly Ball Team Tournament

    Grand Junction

    Dog lovers can enjoy the flyball team tournament at the Mesa County Fairgrounds Lions Park in Grand Junction September 3 and 4.

    Flyball is a relay race where four-dog teams race against each other jumping hurdles, catching a ball, and racing back over the hurdles. Throughout the year, tournaments are held across the state, and this weekend the action is on the western slope. Racing will go from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

    Colorado State Fair

    Pueblo

    The Colorado State Fair runs through September 5. Lee Brice, Dueling Pianos, Journey Revisited (Tribute) and Huey Lewis and the News are just a few of the musical acts performing at the fair this weekend.

    Of course, there will be carnival rides, animal exhibits, vendors, and all the great fair food. Why not make a weekend of it!

    Early Iron Festival

    Alamosa

    The small town of Alamosa comes alive with the 39th annual Early Iron Festival September 2 and 3. This is a huge car show with more than 600 classic cars expected to be on display from all over the country and thousands of spectators.

    The weekend includes live music, a fashion show, and a special dinner.
