The Western Slope Concert Series will present the acclaimed singer Kelly Anderson and western slope favorite harpist Elise Helmke in two concerts: on Saturday, February 7, at 3:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 536 Ouray, and Sunday, February 8, at 3:00 PM at the Montrose Pavilion. Harpist Elise and baritone Kelly, who is executive director of the Grand Junction Symphony, have chosen an fascinating program of music specifically written for concert harp and baritone. Included will be works by Robert Schumann, Maurice Ravel, and Benjamin Britten. Elise will also perform a beautiful work for solo harp, and Kelly will sing the hilarious aria “La Calunnia” from Rossini’s opera The Barber of Seville, accompanied by Kathryn Mientka on piano.
