We just received a report from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office about a missing elderly man here in Grand Junction.

An 81-year-old man reported missing Saturday was found last night by Grand County (Utah) Sheriff’s deputies when they responded to an unattended death about 11 miles west of the Colorado border, police said today.

Police closed the investigation into the whereabouts of Lou Schneider with the discovery, and the death is not believed to be suspicious.

Schneider was reported missing by his family on Saturday evening, who believe he went missing sometime after eating a meal at the Golden Corral restaurant on Highway 6 & 50 in Grand Junction in the early evening.


According to the MCSO, 81 year old Lou Schneider, was reported missing on Saturday the 23rd.

They believe his last know location was the Grand Junction Golden Corral on Highway 6 & 50 Saturday evening.

He is described as 5’11” tall, weighing 150 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair.

A photo of Schneider is being obtained and will be posted as soon as we receive it.

Schneider was driving a 1999, 4-door green Buick Century Colorado license plate 551WYA, like the one in this picture.
