El Paso County officials responded to a fire around 3 this morning. A tip and a call later, 150 weed plants were found in the home, and it's not the first time.

A fire wasn't the only thing blazing at a home in Yoder (near Colorado Springs) in El Paso County. The El Paso Fire Department responded to a neighbor's phone call about a fire around 3 a.m. this morning.

The fire was just a trash fire and was under control -- it was just a fire at 3 o'clock in the morning so it drew some attention. Authorities had also received a tip that there was a marijuana grow in the house, so the firefighters called the police out.

The El Paso County Police Department found over 150 weed plants and confirmed that it's an illegal grow. One of the two men that were home, tried to make a run for it when he saw law enforcement, according to KKTV. The man was caught and detained, but both were let go after a few hours.

This isn't the first time this has happened at this house. According to El Paso County Sheriff's Metro Voice Narcotics and Intelligence Division, they've been here numerous times. 400 plants were seized in April. I wonder if it's the same people or if they're connected? Hopefully, they've lived and learned.
