This Saturday don’t miss the 4th annual Grand Valley Beer Festival on the campus of Colorado Mesa University.  I don’t think it is any secret that I love beer and with this being national craft beer week what better time to hold a beer festival.

The event will get underway at 1pm in the university center ballroom and will wrap-up at 5pm. There will be live music, food, a big raffle and yes beer. Over 50 breweries from around the world will be on hand with some of the finest beer known to man.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, you can pick up tickets right now at Fishers Liquor Barn and Kannah Creek Brewing Company. You must be 21 or older to drink but designated drivers will get in free. The proceeds will go to the Maverick Club Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund.

Each year I always mark this event on the calendar so I don’t miss it. I don’t think there has been a year that I didn’t find a new beer that I really enjoy. If you are not a big beer fan this is a great chance to come sample some killer craft beers and who knows maybe find a new favorite.

Really when you think about it where else can you spend just a few bucks and taste some 100+ beers? Not that most people could work through all of the beers but it is fun to try. I can’t say that I have always tasted all of the beers but maybe this year is the one.
