The Lower Valley Fire Protection District responded to a brush fire on Hwy 6 & 50 near mile marker 19.

As of roughly 10:45 Tuesday morning, approximately one acre of brush had burned. At present, the cause of the fire is unknown.

Nearby railroad tracks were at risk from the fire. As of 10:45 a.m., a Command Unit, one Tender, and two Brush Trucks were on the scene.

Thankfully, the firefighters were able to get the fire out without major incident.
