Are you the BBQ Master? Does your BBQ have what it takes to bring home the trophy at Pork and Hops? Did you know there are dozens of enthusiasts around the valley who believe their BBQ is better than yours? It's time to put your skills to the test, and compete in the amateur competition at Pork and Hops.

Last year's amateur competition was nothing short of spectacular. You wouldn't believe the skill and artistry showcased by Western Colorado BBQ-ers. Smart money says your skills are on a par with theirs.

What does it take to compete in the amateur competition at Pork and Hops? Not much. You'll need to provide your materials, your own cooker, and a little bit of your time.

The deadline is coming up. The Bud Light Colorado Pork and Hops Challenge is coming to Lincoln Park on Friday and Saturday, September 11 and 12. Judging for the amateur competition will be held on Saturday.

The registration fee is $35. You'll have to set up your gear between 7:00 and 8:30 Saturday morning. No check-ins will be allowed after 8:30.

You will have to provide a minimum of six pieces of spare ribs, St. Louis style or baby back ribs only.
