It's "National Drink Beer Day." Here are Colorado's top festivals to do some serious beer drinking.

1) Great American Beer Festival- We'll start with the biggest and the best. Nothing quite tops Denver's annual fall tribute to everything beer. Breweries descend on Denver from all around the world in hopes of winning a coveted gold, silver or bronze medal. With 161 different styles and categories of beers on hand, there's plenty for the nearly 50,000 attending over the 3 days to sample.

2) Breckenridge Oktoberfest- Touted as "the largest street party in the Rocky Mountains", This annual festival in early September is one not to miss! With nearly 40 genuine German brew vendors, German-themed games, lederhosen, and polka dancing it's the next best thing to Oktoberfest in Munich.

3)Telluride Blues and Brews Festival- This little shindig I've been to. First, you're in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Second, there are three days of some of the best blues bands and artist performing. Finally, there's beer. Lots and lots of beer. If you've not done this one, make sure to check it off your list next September.

4) Colorado CRAFTED- Here's a beer festival not in the fall. It's at Crested Butte in early March. Hit the slopes for the early spring skiing and "CRAFTED", a beer tasting event featuring some of Colorado’s best craft brews, spirits, and food.

5) Oktoberfest AMPED- Only in its second year, this festival is quickly becoming a western slope favorite. This year's event at the Los Colonias amphitheater in Grand Junction will feature over 20 breweries, outstanding German food, and live music from Wave 11, The Polkanauts, Peach Street Revival, and more! Plus, there's those cool collector mugs and steins.
