If you are looking for Colorado's most family-friendly ski resorts, these five ski areas should fit the bill perfectly.

Skiing can be great family fun - but, for most families - to have the most fun, the price has to be right, and the facilities have to offer amenities for the kids as well as some challenging trails for the adults. If you are wanting to enjoy some family fun in the snow, try these family-friendly ski resorts in Colorado.

At Sunlight Mountain near Glenwood Springs, an adult full-day lift ticket will run you $63, although they are running a special that allows you to buy two tickets at $40 each. The price makes Sunlight extremely family friendly. About 75% of the terrain is rated as beginner or intermediate, so there is plenty of room for the kids to enjoy the snow safely, while leaving more than enough advanced trails for the adults.

Granby Ranch is one of the smaller resorts in Colorado, which, for some families makes it the ideal place to get away. All of the downhill trails start at the same point and end at the base, so nobody's getting lost. In addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding, they offer snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails as well. The price is definitely attractive at $43 when you buy at least two days in advance.

Cooper boasts of having no ski lift lines, and the "most family-friendly atmosphere."
Adult lift tickets are just $52, but can be had for $30 when you buy tickets on-line in advance. You'll find Cooper tucked away on Highway 24 just north of Leadville.

How could we not include our nearest and dearest neighbors on the Grand Mesa? When you talk about family-friendly skiing,  you have to talk about Powderhorn, with 70% of trails for beginners or intermediate skiers. Of course, the high speed quad lift Flat Top Flyer helps get you the most skiing in for your buck. Full-day adult tickets are $71 and you don't spend a lot of money on gas to get there.

Monarch Mountain is going to be a little bit of a drive, but they say it's well worth it. They have stuff for kids like kids school, and magic carpet for the kiddie skiers, or day care for the ones who are still too small to ski. One-day tickets are $84, but you get can them on-line for $69.
