The Colorado Supreme Court made a ruling today (June 15) that Colorado workers can be fired for using pot while at home.

The Colorado Supreme Court came to a 6-0 decision after hearing the case of former DirecTV employee Brandon Coats who was fired from his job for marijuana use even though he has a medical marijuana card.

Even under Colorado's Lawful Off-Duty Activities Statute, the justices stated that this law is only upheld when the acts are both state and federally legal, which marijuana is not -- both recreational and medical.

We've seen some comments where people are comparing this to alcohol. If someone enjoys alcohol at home, it should be dealt with the same way as marijuana.
