Colorado Uses As Much Energy As Austria

The Tech Insider website just came up with a pretty staggering statistic. In Colorado, we use the same amount of energy every year as the country of Austria. Blame it on all of the smartphone charging if you want, but when you're using the same amount of juice as a small country, maybe it's time to get outside and leave the phone in the house.

On a somewhat unrelated, but equally quirky note, did you know that some people in Austria have figured out a way to produce energy from fat? It's true and here's the proof.

Maybe in the Grand Valley, we can figure a way to capture energy from wine and peaches. Or, if nothing else, we can consume both and forget that we are energy hogs.
