We've all done it. I admit it. I've done it and way too often. That fact is, texting and driving take your eyes off the road and the Colorado State Police are ramping up enforcement of distracted driving.

According to a CDOT, 22% of drivers admit to texting while driving. Did you know that in 2015 nearly 70 were killed due to distracted driving accidents?

 

State Patrol officers and local law enforcement will be watching closely, cracking down on those using their phones while driving. There is a $100 fine if caught texting and driving in Colorado. Sure a ticket would be unfortunate but what if you were involved in an accident resulting in someone being injured, or God forbid, killed. The simple fact is it's completely preventable. The reply to that text can wait or if you're traveling with others, designate a "texter".
