Military members, veterans, and their families get free admission to Colorado state parks

During the month of August, Colorado Parks & Wildlife is honoring military members, veterans, and their families. All will receive free admission to Colorado's 41 state parks all month long. It's an annual benefit. To gain your free access pick up a hangtag at your closest state park starting August 1st. You'll need proof of service to obtain the free pass. The military member or veteran must be in the vehicle using the pass. All other park fees such as camping are not included.

Active duty military can benefit from several programs offered by CP&W. Those include... 1-Advance purchase of leftover hunting licenses, 2-Free admission on Veteran's Day to all state parks, 3-Resident fishing while home on temporary leave, 4-Residency while stationed in Colorado, 5-Preference points while deployed outside the U.S. For more info on the program, just click HERE

"This is just something that the state of Colorado can do for our veterans," says Mike Porras with Parks and Wildlife. "They can come in, enjoy our wonderful natural resources, all the things that parks have to offer and it's certainly a great way to express our gratitude to them."

Military and veterans, enjoy your free month at Colorado's beautiful state parks and thank you for your service.
