It is easy to take for granted where you live. About nine years ago, I lived in Colorado Springs and I didn't go up Pike's Peak even once. My wife never lets me forget that.  When you see something every day, it can become ordinary and you forget how special it is to live in such a beautiful area.

I decided that I would take my family through Colorado National Monument this weekend and I am now convinced this is one of the most underrated areas in Colorado, if not the entire country.

I have included a few of our family pictures from our trip through the Monument this weekend. If you haven't visited in awhile (or ever), it is more than worth your while to see this for yourself. The pictures truly don't do it justice.
