Colorado Mesa Women’s Soccer Start Season Thursday

After spending last season as an assistant coach at Colorado Mesa University, Jason Clare will coach his first collegiate game as a head coach Thursday when CMU’s women’s soccer team begins the 2014 season.

The Lady Mavs open up the season by competing in the Fort Lewis College Soccer Classic at Dirks Field in Durango.

During the tournament, CMU will take on a pair of schools from the Lone Star Conference – Midwestern State and Texas Woman’s. According to a news release from Colorado Mesa, a pair of wins this weekend could place the Mavericks into contention for a postseason spot.

CMU will open up the Fort Lewis College Soccer Classic Thursday when they play Midwestern State at 12:30 p.m.

CMU will play their second game of the tournament at 10:00 a.m. Saturday against Texas Woman’s University.
