Colorado Mesa University has been named to the 2013 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, recognizing institutions which reflect the values of exemplary community service.

The Honor Roll, administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service, was established in 2006. Colorado Mesa University has made the Honor Roll every year since its inception . Initially, the Honor Roll was inspired by the thousands of college students who traveled to support relief efforts along the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina.

In 2013, a total of 690 colleges and universities made the Honor Roll, nine of which are from Colorado. During the 2011-2012 academic year, 3,811 Colorado Mesa University students engaged in community service, providing 401,362 hours of volunteer work.
