Colorado is Among 30 States to Petition for Separation from U.S.

America is in an uproar over the last election and now 30 states, including Colorado, is petitioning the White House for separation from the rest of the United States. Could this really happen?

On the White House website, you can find petitions for Colorado and the other 29 states that have submitted them. Colorado's petition quotes parts of the Constitution:

"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

The White House website states that by December 10, 2012 there needs to be a total fo 25,000 signatures before the White House will respond to the petitions.
