You can be assured if I take the time to tell you about a band or show, it's because they're the real deal and a worthwhile investment of your time. This Saturday night City Of The Weak, a little band out of Minneapolis, MN rolls through Junction.

I got the opportunity to visit with Stef, lead vocalist of the band, this afternoon. She and I agree, there seems to be more chick fronted rock bands now than ever. Her thoughts are that woman continue to assert themselves in all walks of life and rock & roll is just next on the list.

She references those early female rock pioneers, and her heroes, Heart, Joan Jett, and others. Plus mentions those currently fronting rock bands, Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, and In This Moment as inspirations to her and City Of The Weak's effort to break through to clutter and climb their way to superstardom.

"Censor This" is the new single. It's available for download the first week of October. Stef says it's a song about staying true to one's self and not caving to what others may try and tell you to do. After trying to conform to what the record label, and others, were trying to make them into, they wrote this song and she says "it felt good" and is sure to be a hit.

Take some time, hop online and see for yourself. Then head down to Thunderstruck Valley in downtown GJ this Saturday night and experience them in person. You too will leave a believer in City Of The Weak.
