I can't remember the last time I bought a real Christmas tree. After seeing some of the prices around Junction, I remember why.

Please don't think I'm a "Scrooge". No way, Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. When I was younger is was a tradition to make the drive out into the woods in search of the perfect tree. Why is it when you spot that perfect tree from the highway, only to walk up to it, and it's twice as tall as you first thought?

Anyway, I do prefer a real tree but I'm way too busy to try and maintain it. Besides, my place it too small for a real tree of any size. After making a run to the store this afternoon I took a glance at the trees for sale out front. To say I had "sticker shock" was an understatement. 8ft trees cost nearly $100 these days?

I'm perfectly content with my cool little artificial tree. I found it at a flea market for $20. It's awesome! It's 70s era fiber optic, color changing, retro tree. When I put it up, that's not going to happen until next weekend at the earliest, perhaps I'll share a picture in a future post.

If the real thing is your cup-of-tea, good luck finding the perfect tree. Perhaps there are some better deals around town. If you know where the best Christmas tree deals are in town, please share. Someone will benefit but that won't be me. My little fake retro tree suits me just fine. Merry Christmas and happy tree hunting.
