Finnish metal mavens Children of Bodom are set to unleash their eighth studio album, 'Halo of Blood,' on June 11. Bodom's output of albums has always been incredibly consistent, and 'Halo of Blood' is said to contain both the fastest and slowest-paced tracks in the band's history.

Children of Bodom have been pumping up their fans for 'Halo of Blood' with multiple updates from the studio. With drinks in hand, frontman Alexi Laiho and keyboardist Janne Wirman toasted to the new record with beautiful strings of profanity. "The s--t sounds really f---ing good … really looking forward to get this s--t released," says Wirman. Adds Laiho, "It sounds heavy as f---, man. That's what I think, anyways. I'm really f---ing psyched about it, so hopefully we'll get it out soon and you'll like it, too."

In a more recent update, Laiho addresses what fans can expect from Children of Bodom's newest audio offering, 'Halo of Blood':

'Halo of Blood' is the eighth studio album from Children of Bodom. Musically, we've kept it fresh and new while still maintaining the elements that make COB's sound so recognizable. This new album has both the fastest and the slowest songs we've ever made and lyrically, there are themes we've never touched on before. Prepare yourselves for ten tracks of pure Nordic metal!

Additionally, Children of Bodom have just been confirmed to shred through the 2013 Mayhem Festival as headliners of the Musician's Institute Stage.
