The Mesa County Sheriff's Department have made two separate arrests related to child porn and drugged driving.
After a report was filed of a teen receiving nude pictures from a 29 -year-old man, Michael Hopkins, of Grand Junction, was arrested and charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a child-possession. He was released after posting bond on Monday, and a court date was set for April 21.
In a separate incident on Monday, a report of a possible drunk driver prompted police to investigate the erratic driving of 21-year-old Ryah Hollandsworth of Grand Junction. Police say she failed to execute roadside maneuvers and was arrested for drugged driving.
While being transported to the hospital for a blood test, police say Hollandsworth tried to hide some pills in the back seat of the patrol car. Police also found a loaded handgun in her car near the driver's seat, and an AR-15 style rifle hidden in the backseat.
She was booked on multiple charges including possession of controlled substance, prohibited use of a weapon, and tampering with evidence.
