If you don't already have one, you need to know that chicken farms are now a thing in the Grand Valley. The Grand Junction Sentinel is reporting that the Colorado Supreme Court has decided to allow chicken farms in Delta County. Don't you think it's about clucking time?

Here are the details of what went on in the courts over this chicken farm throw down.

Last year, the Colorado Court of Appeals reversed a Delta County District Court ruling that shut down an egg-laying operation on Powell Mesa and blocked a second one on Redlands Mesa.

The case was brought by five Delta County residents who complained that the Delta County Board of Commissioners was biased in its decision in approving applications to operate the farms, and failed to follow proper procedures in doing so.

But a three-judge panel of the appellate court ruled last year that the board did its job correctly.

Would you like having a chicken farm located right out your back door, so you can open the windows and grab a deep breath of that organic chicken goodness? And, I have to ask my neighbors in Clifton why we don't have one of these already?
