More than $1800 worth of equipment was stolen recently from a local non-profit and the public is being asked to help locate those responsible for the theft.

The Western Colorado Conservation Corps has reported the theft of two chain saws and equipment valued at more than $1800 stolen from their location at 2808 North Avenue.

The Western Colorado Conservation Corps is a program run by Mesa County Partners  employing  young people between the ages of 16-25 who work on public lands.

According to a news release from Partners, On June 29, an eyewitness reported seeing a black KIA Sedan pull up to the fence and two females getting out and taking things from the trailer.

Anyone with knowledge of the theft is asked to contact the Grand Junction Police Department.
