I caught the first ever Blue Collar Comedy Tour back in the early 00's. It was one of the best comedy shows I've ever seen! One of the four originals rolls into Grand Junction Sunday, August 28th, The Avalon Theatre downtown.

The Theatre Project of Grand Junction is playing "Schoolhouse Rock, JR" twice this weekend at the Grand Junction High School auditorium. The show times are on Saturday, September 26th at either 2:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. Tickets are only $5.00, and children under five are free.

I want to make something clear. I really don't care what people think of stuff I enjoy. I like what I like and if others think it's stupid, then tough. But, there are a few things I avoid bringing up because I know very few people would understand - and yes, almost certainly ridicule. Here they are in all their embarrassing glory.

Don't take this the wrong way, but there are a lot of fake people in and around Grand Junction. We must have more mannequins per square mile than any city in America. Seriously. Is this a retirement village for plastic people?

How about a moment of true honesty? About 90% of the time, I truly hate Facebook. The other 10% is good enough that I plan to stick around since I do have some friends that I really want to stay in touch with. However, there are five types of Facebook status updates that really must be stopped. Now. Immediately. Please.

As you can probably tell, we love top five lists. We have counted down the top five of pretty much everything in the area. Top five scenic drives? Check. Five Grand Junction specialty sweets stores? Done. Top five smoke shop mannequins holding signs? Working on that one. Yes, we love top five lists. And, here are the top five reasons why.

Grand Junction is such an awesome place partly due to the fact that there are so many darn things to do that everyone knows about. Visiting Colorado National Monument, wineries, scenic drives are all options. But, what happens when you've done all that stuff and you find that you have nothing to do? That's why we're here.
