During the month of July, Bring Me the Horizon released two new songs, a video, their That's the Spirit album title and release date and frontman Oli Sykes got married. To say the least, August has been a little more subdued for the group ... until now. BMTH has just released another new song from their upcoming disc. The tune is called “True Friends” and you can hear it and watch the official lyric video above.

“True Friends,” like the other two tunes released, “Happy Song” and “Throne,” feature more singing and mainstream rock sounds in place of the screaming and metalcore that the group had done frequently in the past. This is a departure from their earlier music and an evolution the band started to show with their previous effort, 2013's Sempiternal. In a recent interview, the group’s keyboardist Jordan Fish talked about their musical shift. “We don’t listen to extreme deathcore anymore,” he said. “We still like some heavy music, but I also like Justin Bieber. My wife told me the other day I have the music taste of a teenage girl.”

With every song they release, you just have to check the band’s Facebook comment section to see how some of their fans are digging the new direction of the group. Many want the “old” BMTH back. Fish talked about their fans' reactions, “Every time we release an album there’s always a bit of resistance. You just have to have faith in yourself and be proud of what you’ve made and hope that eventually people come around to it.”

Bring Me the Horizon’s album That’s the Spirit comes out on Sept. 11. Have a listen to “Happy Song” here and check out their tune and video for “Throne” right here. The band have already lined up a 2015 fall tour with Issues to promote their effort and kick that off on Oct. 1 in Orlando, Fla.
