Black Canyon Of The Gunnison Receives Special Recognition

We all know that the Black Canyon of the Gunnison is a wondrous place. The rest of the world is now waking up and finally discovering our secret. Congrats are in order as the Dark Sky Organization has now bestowed special recognition on Black Canyon as an International Dark Sky Destination.

What does this mean? It's designated for places that offer extraordinary experiences viewing the night sky after dark. I'll admit my visits to the Black Canyon area have been during the daytime. Maybe my family needs to wait a little later in the day to see what the night fuss is about.
