Colorado's own Big Head & The Monsters are kicking off their "New World Arisin'" Tour in Grand Junction Wednesday, November 29th.

Tickets went on sale earlier today and as of mid-morning over 200 were already sold. There was a pre-sale earlier in the week so all the damage wasn't done today but if you're thinking about going to the show, you may want to hop online sooner than later.

I'm a fan. I've seen the band a dozen or more times. Matter of fact, I'm heading over to Denver for the show tomorrow at the Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton. My first BHT show was back to 1996 when the band headlined an annual charity concert for the radio station I programmed back in Springfield, MO. I clearly remember sitting in the back of the venue at the end of that very long day just soaking in the sounds of this incredible band. That was only a couple years after the release of the "Sister Sweetly" album. To hear those tracks performed to perfection blew me away. I've been hooked ever since.

My most recent show was their annual performance at Red Rocks. That too was a most righteous evening. The weather was perfect. The place was packed and there I was again sitting in the back soaking it all in. Now, 20 years after that first concert, two of the radio stations, 95 Rock and KOOL 107.9, have the honor of co-presenting the first stop on their "New World Arisin" North American tour right here in Grand Junction. How cool is that?

Get your tickets today! There are several ways, Monumental Events, The Avalon Theater Box Office, Triple Play Records, Back Porch Music, or charge by phone 970-243-TIXS.
