One Grand Junction Police Officer showed extreme restraint during an incident near Bookcliff Middle School in Grand Junction, Colo.

The Grand Junction Police Department was called to an incident near Bookcliff Middle School today (May 11) on reports of three suspects trespassing on school grounds. The individuals were contacted by a GJPD officer in the vicinity of 29-1/2 Road and Orchard Ave.

One of the three subjects was suspected of reaching for a weapon, despite the officers commands. All three subjects were held at gunpoint until backup officers arrived on the scene. After backup arrived, the suspects were placed into custody without incident.

Two of the involved suspects were 16-year-old males, and the third was 20-year-old Frank Foster. It was discovered that Foster had three active warrants and was arrested on scene.

In addition to the BB gun in Fosters possession, he was also found holding drug paraphernalia and methamphetamines.

Foster was booked into the Mesa County Jail on charges of 3rd Degree Criminal Trespass, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.

The juveniles were released to their parents/guardians.
