Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare just upped the stakes for local acts in the California area with the addition of a battle of the bands added to the festivities. 'Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare Battle of the Bands’ will shine a spotlight on local unsigned talent throughout September and October, allowing bands to compete for the ultimate prize – the opportunity to play on the Monster Energy Main Stage.

The battle will kick off with some preliminary rounds at the Slidebar in Fullerton, Calif. scheduled for Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 25. Bands wanting to get in on the action can email slidebarvenuebooking@yahoo.com by Sept. 13 with the following info: band name, genre, Facebook Page, Twitter, contact name and email. From there the weekly battles will be set up with five bands competing against each other to advance in the competition until one winner is crowned.

Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare gets under way on Oct. 10 and runs through Nov. 2 at the FEARPlex in Pomona, Calif. – not too far from Los Angeles. The horror themed event will feature 15 nights of live music spanning many different genres and of course culminating with the man himself, Rob Zombie performing on the last night. In addition to the music, the Halloween themed experience will offer up many state-of-the-art horror inspired adventures with tickets starting at 30 bucks. Find out all the details here.
