Batman vs. Superman has remarkably kept the look of their villain — Lex Luthor — under wraps to the point where we still had no idea whether Jesse Eisenberg would go bald for the role. Today, we get our first look at the villainous Lex Luthor and, indeed, he's bald.

Director Zack Snyder spoke to Entertainment Weekly about this new iteration of Lex Luthor:

He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course [...] Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.

With the bald head and steely glare, Eisenberg certainly looks the part, but we're surprised to see him in a t-shirt and not the usual business attire. Is this a hint that the new era of Luthor will be more Zuckerberg-ian? Snyder does say that he's not “any of the Lexes” that we've seen before (and, this is a good thing).

While little is known about the film, it's rumored that Lex is the one who leads a campaign against Superman following the events of Man of Steel. After that film, and the destruction in Metropolis, Luthor wants Superman stopped and he manipulates Batman to help him. Because this is a Batman vs. Superman movie, those two will eventually fight, but we've also heard rumors that those two will come to a détente as they team to fight another villain. What else is Luthor cooking up?

Batman vs. Superman stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel. Jeremy Irons (Alfred) and Holly Hunter have also joined the film. In addition to Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, we do know that we’ll get our first appearances from Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) as well, fully introducing the new Justice League.

Batman vs. Superman opens in theaters exactly one year from today, March 25, 2016.
