Controversy is going down in London at the 2012 Olympics with eight female badminton players kicked out today for trying to lose yesterday. The Badminton World Federation held a hearing this morning with pairs of ladies from China, Indonesia and South Korea disqualified. The pairs came under scrutiny after being accused of playing to lose so they could take on easier opponents in later matches.

The ladies from Indonesia and four from South Korea appealed the Badminton World Federation disqualification decision that is expected later today. All of the players already qualified for the quarter finals. After viewing parts on television some fans called the controversy 'shocking', 'not in the spirit of the Olympics' and disappointing to those who went to see the badminton matches.
