If you buy ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ on Blu-ray or DVD tomorrow (as you definitely should and probably will), you’ll be treated to lots of bonus features, including some special behind the scenes footage from ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron.’ Some of that footage made its way online today, with director Joss Whedon giving us a sneak peek at the filming of the upcoming superhero super-sequel, featuring plenty of glimpses at Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in action.

“Mass destruction? Check. Superheroes? Check. A beautiful location? Check.” Director Joss Whedon gives us a peek at ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ taking us behind the scenes in the brief video above, which features lots of action being filmed. An ‘Avengers’ sequel reuniting all of our favorite heroes in one epic film is exciting enough, but even more exciting is the addition of Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver. And the video features lots of Scarlet Witch action, as she waves her hands around, wielding her telekinetic powers to cause some chaos.

You’ll also notice little glimpses of Quicksilver, as well as all the usual superhero suspects, and a quick shot of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow (or her stunt double) taking down two bad guys at once with an awesome barrel roll move. If you pick up ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ on Blu-ray or DVD tomorrow, you’re sure to see more from the upcoming sequel. We’re only five months away from the release date, so we’re sure to start seeing a lot more promotional materials begin to roll out.

In the meantime, here’s the official synopsis for the sequel:

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
