At the beginning of 2016, At the Drive-In announced reunion tour dates and that they were working on new music. They have now released the single "Governed by Contagions" that you can check out above. It's also available to download for free at the band's website.

The song is their first new track since their 2000 album Relationship of Command. After splitting in 2001, At the Drive-In reunited for some 2012 shows, and then again this year.

In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez talked about touring without guitarist Jim Ward, who left the band just before the reunion tour.

"I'll keep it really simple about Jim," Rodriguez-Lopez says. "If you think the timing was a shock to you, as a fan, it was tough on us to be such an irresponsible timing, to be let known about it so close to tour. Luckily Keeley [Davis] has been great, and he saved us, and we were able to continue with our touring plans for ourselves and for our fans, more than anything."

He continues, "If it came as a shock to you, imagine for us inside of the band – we all knew about this tour for the past eight months. We all knew and worked towards it and put our family lives aside and planned accordingly. But we got through it, and that's the important thing."

As far as more live shows, At the Drive-In will be playing the U.K.'s Reading and Leeds Festivals next August. We'll keep you posted on any information about the status of a new album.
