Get your skis and snowboards ready, Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin) will kick off the 2014-15 ski season in Colorado this Friday (Oct. 17).

A-Basin will officially begin the ski season on Friday by opening the intermediate run High Noon at 9:00 am. You'll be able to access the run by the Black Mountain Express chairlift.

A-Basin's Chief Operating Officer, Alan Henecroth, told Snowboard Colorado,

“Conditions have been outstanding for snowmaking and we are very excited to open this Friday. It is always great to watch people have fun skiing and riding. I look forward to catching up with old friends and getting The Basin rolling."

The Basin started making snow on October 2, and created an 18-inch base that was necessary for opening. A-Base received about a foot of snow weeks before their opening.

During Friday's opening, you'll be able to rent skis and snowboards, get some grub at the A-Frame lodge, Black Mountain Lodge and 6th Alley Bar & Grill.

If you frequent A-Basin throughout the year, become a member of their Mug Club, you can get discounts during the season.

If you're headed out to A-Base this weekend, be sure to purchase your tickets in advance to get the best deals.
