While Grand Junction is seeing wind and rain, the mountains in central Colorado are getting a hefty dose of wind and snow.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, chain restrictions on Interstate 70 have been initiated from mile marker 184 to mile marker 190. Basically, if you're heading over Vail Pass, expect winter, not spring driving conditions.

Trucks and other commercial vehicles who don't want or can't chain up, are asked not to proceed past Dotsero - exit 133 - until conditions improve.

Multiple accidents on both eastbound and westbound I-70  have caused intermittent closures from the Eisenhower and Johnson tunnels, Silverthorne, Copper Mountain and over Vail Pass this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, wind is also making travel even more hazardous on the I-70 corridor.
