Tuesday at the world championships, American skier Lindsey Vonn suffered torn ligaments in her right knee and a broken bone when she crashed during her super-G run. See the crash Vonn was treated on the slope before being airlifted to the hospital. The team says Vonn will have surgery to repair her ACL and MCL ligaments and will miss the rest of the season.
This is the sixth straight major championship the four-time World Cup champion has been hit with injuries. The crash comes almost one year before the start of the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. The hope is that Vonn will return in time for the Olympics.
