It was on this date in 1980 that AC/DC released ‘Back in Black’ making the classic album 34-years-old. It’s amazing the album even got finished as Bon Scott had died on February 19th and for a bit AC/DC thought about disbanding until Scott’s parents urged the boys to continue.

AC/DC hired Brian Johnson to replace Bon Scott and in just a few short months were able to finish what would become one of the great rock albums of all time. ‘Back in Black’ has sold over 50 million copies worldwide making it one of the top selling albums of all time.

In 2007 the album had reached over 22 million in the United States making it the sixth best selling in the U.S. history. ‘Back in Black’ regularly sits on top album charts of all time and according to Rolling Stone magazine is the 77th greatest rock album of all time.

AC/DC will hit the road this year and if you have never seen the boys in action I highly recommend you add seeing them to your bucket list. I have seen them a few times and they have always done a killer show.
