AC/DC’s Brian Johnson + Angus Young Surprise Fans at ‘Rock or Bust’ Listening Party
AC/DC gave New York City fans a special surprise last night (Nov. 18) during the premiere listening party for 'Rock or Bust.' Out of nowhere, vocalist Brian Johnson and guitarist Angus Young stepped onstage with producer Brendan O'Brien to thank fans for their support.
It's been a turbulent time for AC/DC. Guitarist Malcolm Young recently suffered a stroke, which left him with a case of dementia. Also, drummer Phil Rudd is currently facing charges of "threatening to kill" along with meth and weed possession. Regardless, AC/DC march forward, promising that neither dilemma will affect the band's upcoming touring plans.
Hosted by 'Howard Stern Show' producer Gary Dell'Abate, 'Rock or Bust' was played in its entirety through the speakers of NYC's Webster Hall. After the record was finished, Dell'Abate returned to the stage and introduced Johnson, Young and O'Brien to an elated crowd.
"Stevie [Young] stepped up to the plate," Johnson said. "Malcolm is in a happy place, I want you to know that. And we love him, and he was with us right through the album." Angus added, "Everyone who is into AC/DC and is a fan; you're the guys that make it. We keep going for you."
