Grand Junction is well known for our outdoor activities and adventures, one of the most affordable and plentiful options is to stay at one of the many campgrounds in the area. There are campgrounds with full amenities, and some with the bare necessities but all of them are sure to be a fun for you and your family. Here is where you can find some of my favorite campgrounds in the Grand Junction Area.

Connected Lakes Campground

This campground is known as “The Camp”. Obviously, there are several lakes in the area and it's very close to the river. Another nice thing about the Camp is that it’s technically located in Grand Junction, so shopping and grocery stores are very close. The Camp.

James M. Rob Colorado River State Park

This is one of the newest and prettiest campgrounds in the Grand Junction Area. It’s located just outside of Fruita, and has facilities, and is located next to the Colorado River. It’s also a great campground if you’re on a river trip and planning to call it a day in the area. James M. Rob Colorado River State Park.

Island Acres Campground

Island Acres Campground is one of my favorite places to go camping in the area. The lakes are always fun to swim in, and it’s really close to Palisade. In case you are not as accustomed to camping, they have showers and toilets and facilities. Island Acres Campground.

SaddleHorn Campground

Saddlehorn Campground is near the Colorado National Monument, which means there are great views and plenty of chances to see local wildlife. Saddlehorn Campground is not usually crowded, which is another plus. Saddlehorn Campground.

Highline State Park

The best part about Highline Lake Campground is that the lake is nearby. You can eat breakfast while you watch your kids swim in the lake. There are also a lot of great mountain biking and hiking trails in the area. Highland State Park.
