In 1977 ABC introduced the Character Mork from Ork, played by Robin Williams, during a ‘Happy Days’ episode. Mork came to earth to take a ‘Hum Drum’ human back to Ork. It turned out that Richie Cunningham was the specimen, but the Fonz foiled his plan and a battle of the Finger VS. The Thumb broke out. The episode turns out to be a dream but the Mork character proved to be popular enough that ABC ordered the series for the fall of 1978.

The series was set in Boulder Colorado and ran on ABC from 1978 to 1982. The show was really a launching pad for Robin Williams as he went on to star in a ton of movies.
In 1997 the episode “Mork’s Mixed Emotions” was ranked #94 on TV Guide’s 100 Greatest Episodes of all time.
I will have to say that was my favorite from the show. When Morks emotions break out and he get's his butt kicked by a biker gang. It still makes me laugh.
