The 101st Army Band will perform in concert June 20 at the Avalon Theatre in Grand Junction.

The 101st Army Band is made up of soldier-citizens in the Colorado National Guard and acts as musical ambassadors for the state of Colorado and the United States Army. Along with the full band, the group is comprised of smaller ensembles covering a broad range of music from Dixieland Jazz to country, and rock and roll.

The Grand Junction concert is part of the 101st Army Band's West Slope Tour, which includes performances in Rifle, Glenwood Springs, Cedaredge, and Montrose.

The concert is billed as "rousing and inspirational" and will feature some patriotic music, and a salute to service, recognizing all veterans in attendance. Concert time is 7:00 p.m. at the Avalon Theatre in downtown Grand Junction.

This is a free concert and tickets are not required.
