10 Things We Know About Broncos’ Quarterback Brock Osweiler

Brock Osweiler will be the Denver Broncos' quarterback Sunday against Chicago, so it's time we shed some light on this figure who has been looming in the shadows of the Broncos' bench the last four years.

At this point, there is no telling how long Osweiler will be the starting quarterback. It could be a week, two weeks, a month, 10 years. Only time will tell.

So here is a look at the man who will carry the Denver offense until Peyton Manning can return to the helm. This is what we know about Brock Alan Osweiler.

• For starters, we know he is tall. Osweiler stands 6'8" from head to toe. That's three inches taller than the lengthy Peyton Manning who stands at 6'5". While there are a number of 6'6" NFL quarterbacks who have had success like Joe Flacco, Mark Wilson, and Derek Anderson, only three have been taller - and all were busts you've likely never heard of- Dan McGwuire (6-8) in the 90s, Frank Patrick (6-7) early 70s, and Sonny Gibbs (6-7) in the 60s.
• He's been married to his wife Erin since February 2014.
• Played three years at Arizona State University, with just one year as the full-time starter. He played in six games as a freshman and became the first Sun Devil true freshman to start at quarterback since future Bronco QB Jake Plummer.
• Completed 60% of his passes at ASU with 33 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
• Went to Flathead High School in Kalispell, Montana where he was the Gatorade State Player of the Year 2008-2009
• He's very athletic. Brock had originally committed to play basketball at Gonzaga, before rejecting the scholarship and settling on a football career
• Selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Quarterbacks taken ahead of Osweiler were Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin, III, Ryan Tannehill, and Brandon Weeden. Quarterbacks taken after Osweiler include Russell Wilson, Nick Foles, and Kirk Cousins.
• He signed a 4-year $3.5 million dollar contract through 2015 - which means he will be a free agent at the end of this season.
• In 3-plus seasons with Denver, Osweiler has played in 15 games and thrown a grand total of 54 passes, completing 31, with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.He has run the ball 22 times for a meager total of 7 yards
• The Broncos once used Osweiler on special teams to try and block a field goal against the New England Patriots, but it didn't work. The field goal was good and the Pats won in overtime.
